Analysing Photos

Analyzing Pictures.
In the photo you see a happy healthy looking family of 6, they are all smiling and look like they are having fun. It is all in black and white. You can clearly see who the mother and father is. One or two of the kids are holding toys. The creator of this picture is trying to display a perfect german family, showing what germany could be like. I think it I showing this because it could be a voting campaign and they need to show what they could make it like. The intended audience is for german and also people around the world to show how great Germany is. I think it does work because it makes you think that germany it a wonderful place.

Propaganda.
The mean of this word is: used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view (from the apple dictionary). The Nazi used propaganda many times to promote the idea of NAZI. They used it a lot to enforce what they thought so people started liking it and vote for the NAZI party.

Otto Hauptmann

Otto lives works in a factory in Berlin. His union had worked together for better conditions and higher wages, but it has not made many gains. Otto blames 1923 inflation and depression. He thinks stabilize will be the answer. In factories that Otto friends work in they are taking out all the older people and keeping the younger ones because they are more productive. Otto disagrees to the point that the workers should take control of the factories and government. He thinks those jobs should be for the people who know what it is about.

I think Otto will vote for the Communist Party because the second rule/platform is 'The establishment of land reform programs, so that the government can take over the land and distribute it for common good.' and in his summery he says that stabilising will be the answer. As rule 2 states the government will take all the land and share it evenly between everyone.

Anger and Humiliation

Choose two points of this program that you think are especially unfair. Why are they unfair? Which ones do you have questions about?

4. German blood as a requirement for german citizenship. No Jew can be a member of the nation.
8. No further immigration of non-germas. Any non-German who entered Germany there after August 2nd 1914 shall leave immediately.

I think both of these rules are un fair. 'No Jew can be a member of the nation.' (Part of rule number 4) For me this is really terrible rule. Did the americans block out the Jewish people? Why the Jews? Why not the Buddhist, the Muslims, the Hindus, all the other religions? What did they do ? They are the same as everyone but they just have a couple different beliefs, it doesn't mean you have to put them in concentration camps because they have different beliefs.

I also have to disagree with rule number 8. 'No further immigration of non-Germans.' Why is it like that, what if it is a life or death situation? What if these 'Non-Germans' have no other choice? What if their family is dying in Germany and they need to give them life support? It really is just not fair. Most countries allow this why does Germany have to be against it?

If you had been on the train, do you think you would have said or done anything? Have you or someone you know ever had a similar experience?
