A friend like henry has one main protagonist, Dale a boy with a severe case of autism his carachteristics are:
'limitless supply of energy' This really affected the parents of Dale because on streets dale would have full on tantrums and never run out of enery for them
Dale had an obsession with Thomas the Tank Engine, Thomas and his friends learned dale about all kinds of things: colours, feeling, facial expressions and also a love for tranportation 'Dale predictably adopted Thomas as his new obsession',
In the begining of the book dale was not too effectionate at all and had no feeling forhtose around him at all but as the book went on he slowly learned about what people went through and he had never learned the meaning of love until a dog was introduced to him called Henery, from henery he learned the meaning of love: 'Mommy, Dale loves you' I ran around the isle where Jamie was staring at our wee lad in amazment and knelt down, arms wide open in delight 'Dale come here' I shouted back ' I want a hug, I love you too'
Dale was a tall boy, when he was 13 he was in the grade with 11 year olds but because of his autism he wasnt as smart so he was with the younger kids but he fully fitted in because he was on the same side on a maturity scale as the kids 2 years younger than him. He also had dark hair with blue beautiful eyes
Good Zelma...
